There's a new forum theme! It features the legendaries from the upcoming Pokemon games, Black and White. Right now, we're calling them Zekrom (the black one) and Reshiram (the white one). This isn't my favorite theme, but I think it's pretty good. I'll use it for a while.

Hello, LI members! In an attempt to find something fun to do and to increase activity, Lugia's Island is hosting a Shoddy Battle competition. :)

The clauses are going to be standard, as the following:

Smogon
Evasion Clause
Moves that boost evasion (i.e. Double Team and Minimize) are not allowed.
Freeze Clause
Two or more Pokemon on a team cannot be frozen at the same time.
Sleep Clause
Two or more Pokemon on a team cannot be asleep at the same time. Self-induce sleep via rest does not activate Sleep Clause.
OHKO Clause
One-Hit KO moves are not allowed.
Species Clause
Two or more of the same Pokemon may not be used on the same team.
Self KO Clause
If both players have only one Pokemon left, moves which KO both the user and the opponent are not allowed (e.g. Explosion, Destiny Bond). If recoil damage would cause a tie, Self KO Clause does not activate, and the player who last attacked is the winner.

Note that the Item Clause has been removed, as it's only applicable to Nintendo tournaments.

This competition will hopefully be arranged on a monthly basis, depending on the success/interest of this first competition.

This month's competition will be formed of OU (overused) [smogon.com] teams, in order to create an even playing field.

I will not be participating, and I will be supervising each match. The competition will be starting on Sunday, August 1. The battles will be organized randomly and you will be emailed/PMed (your choice) your battle time and who you're battling.

To enter, either post here or PM me. If you wish to be emailed in regard to your battle time and information, include that in the PM.

NEW RULE. You have to use the SAME SIX POKEMON for all your battles, but you can change their EVs/IVs/moves if you see an improvement that could be made mid-tournament.

It has been a while since we have done a contest. So here is our newest contest: the poetry contest.
Rules:
(1)All Poetry must be PG-13 or less. We are not a death/porn/rape/murder site.
(2)Plagiarism is not allowed.
(3)All subjects are allowed unless they break any of these guidelines.
(4)All lengths are allowed. No matter how short or long.
Deadline:
August 1, 2010.
Prize:
The prize is a custom stationary, envelope, picture, and sprite trophy. Oh, and bragging rights.

There's a new theme. :smilie: It's called Sacred Fire, and it's a theme featuring Ho-Oh. Here's the thing. I put a fixed position bar at the top. To you not-so-technically-minded people, that means that it stays at the top of the page as you scroll. I like it :tongue: but Gameboo some people don't. So there's a poll here too.

I had this dream last night. I talked with everybody here.. Peter, Sky, Gamby, Camy , and all my other friends here too , and I saw them in real life(in my dream). Everyone said they would do something. But, it never happened. The last part of my dream was me looking at the screen reading LIF's last announcement.. I read to the part where it said LIF shut down and nobody came anymore. I woke up hurt and worried.. because to be honest I don't think we are doing as much as we should. And this may very well be the future.

We came up with all these ideas , but we are not doing anything. I made a few pages but.. it seems like nobody noticed or something. We all need to work together. We can do this. I am not saying everyone has to everyday, but only when they can do something. We Can. We are family (well most of us).

Let's do this together and if we must just a little out of a time. Let's build this up like a pyramid to the sky.

In other words stop procrastinating. lol
